The TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) was founded in 1992 and funds and supports rigorous scientific research studies and evidence-based practice (EBP) projects in the field of military nursing. TSNRP is located within the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) which is authorized by 10 USC 2113(g)(1)(A) to make grants to any nonprofit entity for the purpose of carrying out cooperative enterprises in medical research, medical consultation, and medical education. TSNRP supports nurse scientists in all stages of their careers through research funding, education, and mentoring. Since its inception, TSNRP has funded over 430 research and EBP projects; 19 applications were successfully funded in Fiscal Year 2016. The mission of TSNRP is to facilitate nursing research to optimize the health of military members and their beneficiaries, with the following the five strategic goals: 1. Advance a culture of scientific inquiry and scholarly knowledge application. 2. Advocate mission critical priorities by building a military nursing research science base. 3. Expand infrastructure to support and develop nursing research and EBP. 4. Invest in military nurse scientists and programs of research. 5. Foster interservice nursing research capacity.

NASN is offering a $5,000 research grant through the American Nurses Foundation (ANF) for beginner and experienced nurse researchers for studies to advance nursing science and enhance care. Awardee must be a current member of NASN and a qualified professional school nurse engaged in school nurse practice, education or research. Research studies eligible for this funding focus on school nurse impact on health disparities, students with chronic health conditions, student safety; innovative models of school nursing practice; cost-benefit analysis of school nursing; or impact of school nurse activities related to social determinants of health on student health and education outcomes. The deadline for applications is May 1st.

Purpose The purpose of the Sigma/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care research grant is to encourage qualified nurses to contribute to the advancement of nursing care through research. Proposals for pilot and/or developmental research may be submitted for the grant. Research Funding Funds for this grant are provided jointly by Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care and Sigma Foundation for Nursing. Funds for this grant do not cover expenses incurred prior to the funding date.

RWJF is now looking for researchers to study the impact the program has had on the changing face of nursing. Up to four grants of $3,000 each will be awarded to individual researchers for the development of a manuscript in one of the following categories: supports and barriers for accelerated nursing students; characteristics of male nursing students; increasing diversity and cultural climate of nursing schools; student debt and accelerated nursing education: policy implications; and effective mentoring/necessary components.

Through the program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 in support of research projects focused on school nurse impact on health disparities, students with chronic health conditions, and student safety; innovative models of school nursing practice; cost-benefit analysis of school nursing; and/or impact of school nurse activities related to social determinants of health on student health and educational outcomes. The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International is accepting applications for its 2018 Educational Assessment Nursing Research Grant, which is co-sponsored by ATI Nursing Education. One grant of up to $6,000 will be awarded for research demonstrating the use of standardized assessments and curriculum support materials in nursing education. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, admission and retention of students, assessing student performance, and simulation. To be eligible, applicants must be a registered nurse with current license and have a master's or doctoral degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program.

The purpose of the annual ISONG Nursing Research Grant award is to support research related to genetic/genomic nursing practice or to the development of genetic/genomic nursing science. Grant funding may be used as "seed" money for conducting a pilot study or for support of an ongoing research investigation with promising contribution to genetic/genomic nursing science and genetic nursing practice. All relevant research areas will be considered; however, priority will be given to studies that address genetic/genomic nursing practice or genetic/genomic health outcomes.

To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for its Nursing/American Nurses Grant. Through the program, a single grant of up to $7,500 will be awarded in support of research conducted by a beginning nurse researcher or an experienced nurse researcher who is entering a new field of study. Preference will be given to Sigma members, all other qualifications being equal.

Established in 1986, the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association represents the specialty of palliative nursing and provides support for the profession through education programs, research initiatives, and advocacy. In support of this mission, the association is accepting applications for its HPNF Certification Research Grant. Studies done in the acute-care setting suggest that care environments with a higher proportion of certified nurses have better patient outcomes. Replicating this research in the hospice or palliative care environment has potential to advance the understanding of the value of palliative nursing certification. Through the program, a single grant of up to $15,000 will be awarded to an exploratory, pilot, or feasibility study with the potential to lead to a larger-scale project that can help build a better understanding of the impact of palliative nursing certification on patient outcomes.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement invites applications to establish Centers of Excellence for Self-Management Research: Building Research Teams for the Future (P20). The purpose of the program is to enhance interdisciplinary, biobehavioral research for scientists conducting self-management research by enabling development of a sustainable research infrastructure and centralized resources in support of research programs in various science areas. The purpose of the P20 Center is to: (1) develop new and a potential sustainable interdisciplinary, biobehavioral research capacity for scientists conducting nursing research by establishing centralized research resources and a research infrastructure; (2) build the Centers thematic science area through complementary, synergistic research activities; and (3) begin to grow feasibility research that will develop into new research teams of the future and independent investigator research applications.

Founded in 1922, Sigma Theta Tau International supports the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses making a difference in global health. To that end, the organization is inviting applications from registered nurses to its Small Grants program. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to encourage nurses to contribute to the advancement of nursing through research. To be eligible, the principal investigator(s) should be a registered nurse (or country equivalent) with a current license and have at least a master's in nursing (or equivalent). Preference will be given to Sigma Theta Tau members.

Through the program, grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 will be awarded to beginning and experienced nurse researchers in support of studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient outcomes. The foundation welcomes applications in a number of strategic areas, including nursing leadership/management, the health of nurses, African-American nurses, credentialing, clinical care, psychiatric/mental health, women's health, gerontology, and social policy. The foundation strongly encourages overlapping areas of study.

The principal investigator must be a full member of ANNA for the duration of the research project. The primary principal investigator must be a registered nurse and must have a minimum of a Masters Degree. If two (2) or more individuals are applying as co-investigators, all must be members of ANNA for the duration of the research project with at least one (1) of the co-investigators being a full member, and others being either full or associate members. Actively involved in nephrology nursing related health care services. The principal or co-principal investigator(s) who are full members of ANNA must share equal responsibility with all other co-investigators for the conceptualization and implementation of the proposed research project. The principal or co-principal investigator(s) who are full members of ANNA must provide evidence of his/her/their experience and credentials demonstrating the ability to complete the research project and commitment to nephrology nursing. The project may be a new endeavor or one already in progress.

The purpose of the Sigma/Association of Nurses in AIDS Care Grant research grant is to encourage research career development of nurses through support of clinically oriented HIV/AIDS research and increase the number of HIV studies being done by nurses. This includes studies focused on HIV prevention, symptom management, promotion of self-care and adherence. Proposals for pilot and/or developmental research may be submitted for the grant.

The Rural Nurse Research Grants competition is to stimulate research about rural nursing in the United States. The program supports research projects that are either or both qualitative and quantitative in nature and focus on a rural nursing topic. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that develop or benefit from measures or methodological approaches for addressing rural nursing issues.

Through the program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 in support of research projects focused on school nurses' impact on health disparities, students with chronic health conditions, and student safety; innovative models of school nursing practice; cost-benefit analyses of school nursing; and/or the impact of school nurse activities on student health and education outcomes.

The Oncology Nursing Society Foundation is seeking Letters of Intent from beginning researchers for its mentored Research Career Development Award. Through the annual program, grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to support short-term oncology research training and mentorship, with each fellow receiving up to $18,000 to cover related expenses; the mentor (or the mentor's institution) will receive a $2,000 award in the form of an unrestricted honorarium to cover his/her consultative or research-related expenses and/or other institutional costs. To be eligible, applicants must be a registered nurse with an interest in oncology and have a completed PhD degree in nursing or a related discipline. The awards are available for beginning researchers (i.e., up to eight years after completing a PhD degree with no history of research funding as a principal investigator).

The NNCC has established this nursing research grant to honor and recognize Barbara F. Prowant's tremendous contributions to nephrology nursing and certification within the specialty.  Her work improved the lives of patients everywhere.  This research grant is established to promote nursing research particularly in the area of nephrology. 

To that end, STTI is accepting applications for its 2019 Joan K. Stout, RN Research Grant, which is named in honor of Hugoton Foundation president Joan K. Stout, RN, FAAN, in recognition of her support of the role of simulation and technology by nurses incorporating evidence-based patient care. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in support of ongoing evidence-based study by nurse researchers on the impact of the practice of nurse-led simulation in improving quality of care in clinical and/or academic settings with potential for further funding and ongoing research.

To that end, STTI is accepting applications for its 2019 Joan K. Stout, RN Research Grant, which is named in honor of Hugoton Foundation president Joan K.
